This movie is awesome...
but could have been so much better!
Why is Heywood the only passenger on the flight to a station that already has a Hilton and a Ho-Jo up and running?!?
No wonder Pan-Am went out of business!!! Sheesh!!!
Still, Kubrick foretold a lot of things about the future! Glass cockpits, TVs on the backs of plane seats... Wow!
When HAL really does come true, no one can say he didn't warn us!

It makes no sense, but it is a good film.
This film was okay, although the ending really didn't make any sense. I never really got to the point of the dawn of man, but I think that the story tells it very clearly. Also, I kinda think HAL-9000, or Hal, for short, is basically like a computer, smart enough to handle any task, but sadly, fails into doing the Jupiter satellite mission, even though there's nothing wrong with the device, and yet Hal should let the mission fail. Also, I was born in 1995, so this film is way older than me (about 27 years) and now the film is over 50 years old today! I'm now 23, so there's that I guess. I'd say this film would make more sense if you know someone who was born before 1968, ask them what they thought of the movie (if they saw it) and if they liked it, why not give it a shot. Also, I never got the idea of 2001, in the title. Maybe a reference to the year or whatever? Who knows.

Excellent movie to watch.
This movie maybe 50 years old and dated incorrectly in the title but it still has a lot to tell us about the future. The mixture Arthur C. Clark's Scientific imagination from the short story 'The Sentinel' and Stanley Kubrick's cinema talent are utterly fantastic.
Even with the odd hard to follow "Dawn of Man" beginning this movies is still one heck of a great entertainment.
